Tianjin – Beijing (Day 1 – 12 May 2012)

Yak…Mari kita mulai petualangannya huehehe… Kali ini aku pertama kali solo travelling. Yup, I’m a girl, I’m Chinese but I cannot speak Chinese AT ALL… Trus?apa aja sih yg aku siapin?

1. Dari 1 bulan sebelumnya aku uda mulai research tempat tujuan, booking hotel, tiket kereta antar kota, dll… Mostly dari TravelChinaGuide
2. Siapin semua nama tempat yang dituju pakai bahasa mandarin
3. Cari2 temen2 Indo yang tinggal di China untuk dapetin contact-nya, in case disana aku butuh bantuan :D tentu saja dari forum2…
4. Buku Lonely Planet China
5. Buku Phrasebook mandarin
6. Upgrade GPS offline di HP More

A Cloudy yet Fun Day at Taronga Zoo

Cable Car

Finally, we made up our mind after several attempts to go to Taronga Zoo but failed on the day before because of bad weather forecast :) This time the forecast said that we will have a cloudy day with a light shower at the afternoon. The day before was a thunderstorm around the Sydney and we thought that after the very bad weather there is always a good weather :D

So…we decided to meet up at Circular Quay Ferry Station at 10.15 AM. We bought the Zoo Pass which cost 50.50 AUD, this include the Zoo entry fee and the return ticket of the ferry otherwise you will need to pay 44.00 AUD for the Zoo Entry and 11.20 AUD for the return ferry ticket. The Ferry departs at Wharf 2 and usually they have the ferry for every 15 minutes. For more information you can go to their website. More

The Oldest Buddhist Temple in Penang

This temple is called Dhammikarama Burmese Temple… Yep…it’s originally from Burmese and they said that this temple is the first buddhist temple built in Penang.

You can see that this temple is originally from Burmese from the style of the temple also the lion that is usually placed in front of main temple as a guardian has different form. More likely almost the same with Thailand’s style of building since as far as I know, Thailand has got the influence from Burmese too :D *correct me if I’m wrong* More

The Biggest Buddhist Temple in Southeast Asia

Kek Lok Si Temple

Shrine near Kuan Yin

Yep… the biggest buddhist temple in Southeast Asia is here in Penang… Its name is Kek Lok Si Temple and located at Air Itam. It’s quite far from Georgetown and you can get here by using taxi or bus. The easiest to catch a bus is from Komtar in the center of Georgetown and no worries though…the bus to go to Air Itam is quite a lot…

But I used taxi to get here since I was in Blue Mansion before and it would take time to go to Komtar so it is the best way then… The people in Blue Mansion is kind enough to show us where we can get the taxi :D I forgot the exact price for the taxi but it should be around 60 MYR and it took around 45 minutes – 1 hour.
