Awalnya, kita dengan santainya pakai bahasa Indo pesan tempat sama yang jaga dan untungnya emang orang Indo hehe… πŸ˜€ lalu setelah duduk, dengan santainya lagi kita pakai bahasa Indo mau order makanan dan kali ini staff-nya ga ngerti dan jawab “What??” hahaha… πŸ˜€ langsung deh malu dan switch pake Inggris order-nya ^^;;;

πŸ™‚ Have a nice day!!

Chinese New Year Twilight Parade 2012

The Dancer

Let’s celebrate the Chinese New Year by seeing the parade. This year, the parade was held on 29 January, a week after Chinese New Year. It starts from Town Hall and end at China Town πŸ˜€ The parade starts from 8.15 PM however you can see a pre-parade entertainment like acrobat or dances from 7.00 PM near the Town Hall area.

Lion Dance

No worries if you cannot find the route of the parade, the road will be closed during the parade and they put a metal block on each side of road. You can figure it out right away by seeing this πŸ™‚

I got the spot near Town Hall, but across the street. Seems that it was a perfect spot *for now* until someone from MediBank gave away cheer sticks to everybody 😦 the person beside me started to inflate and swing it in front of me >_< oh gosh… theyΒ interruptedΒ the perfect view of the road 😦

The weather is not too good today, it’s windy but thankfully, It’s not raining πŸ˜€ The parade started with the Lion Dances. I was busy taking pictures and then get shock because suddenly the lion dancer walked in front of me, I didn’t realize that they were performing near me hahaha… πŸ˜€

Costume Dancer?

After that, the parade continues with some performances and *of course* the sponsor… most of the performances comes from public school, community or training center. And the parade is not only showing Chinese Culture, you can see Korean and Japanese too… πŸ˜€ Β The performer also…not only Asian but some of Western joined too… πŸ™‚

Actually, I’m kinda dissapointed because some of them just do the performance in front of the special stage at Town Hall and after that just walking by. Don’t know if there are another stop point along the road 😦

The Crowded

The parade itself took around 1 hour to complete and after that you can see the Fireworks at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour. The fireworks only last for 10 minutes and starts not long after the parade. Not a big fireworks like the one on Australia Day but still.. it’s worth to watch πŸ˜€

And apart from the parade…today is my worst day…I forgot to re-charge my camera!! T_T It’s just turned off while I’m busy taking picture of the Lion Dances *sob…sob… better attend the parade again next year 😦
